Due to the exceptional heatwave and the different situations in each department, the following measures will apply until and including Friday, 17 July 2026:

• The website of the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) serves as the reference. If the forecast temperature for that day in the municipality where the repository is located reaches or exceeds 30°C, the following measures will apply:
  • In buildings that are fully air-conditioned (public areas, offices and repositories): no specific measures will be taken.
  • In buildings that are not air-conditioned or only partially air-conditioned, the head of department will decide before 9 a.m. whether the service, including the reading room, will close earlier that day (at 3 p.m.). Visitors with a reservation for that day will be informed personally by the service.

As of 15 October 2025, the reading room of the State Archives in Eupen will be temporarily closed due to the move to a new location. The new reading room will open at the beginning of January 2026. The exact reopening date will be announced later.
