Join us at the National Archives of Belgium on the 6th of March 2025 for the one-year anniversary of the DigiL4Arch and DAMAR projects.

The European Data Strategy highlights the importance of data access and data sharing, introducing new challenges and opportunities for archives.

We will tackle the topics of data archiving, access and preservation in the digital age with national and international experts. Two panels will discuss the impact of the increasing digitalisation on archival practices from legal and practical points of view.

  1. EU Data Legislation and Archiving: Explore the latest developments in European data legislation and their implications for digital archiving with our panel of legal experts.
  2. Data Archiving and Data Sharing: Gain insights into the practices and strategies for managing and sharing data, through practical examples and theoretic findings.

DigiL4arch is a project that explores the legal challenges of digital archiving, in order to provide recommendations for amendments of the Belgian archiving legislation.

The DAMAR project aims to create a dependable archive for managing (sensitive) records, by providing a secure and robust data repository environment within the Social Sciences and Digital Humanities Archives platform (Sodha).
